How many athletes can be timed?
There is no simple answer to this
question as it depends on the number of athletes finishing
at any one time. For longer events (over 2 hours) the
system can easily handle 1000 - 3000 competitors.
Most triathlons, and many other
sporting events, have race fields of 1000 to 3000 competitors.
This is the market that we aim to supply.
Can the race software be modified for different events?
Yes. If your event requires a particular
format for data capture or results presentation, we can
modify our existing software so that it delivers what
you want.
How much does it cost to hire the RFID Timing System?
The cost depends on the specific
requirements of your event. The number of competitors
and the amount of data required to be timed will affect
the price. Please contact
us for us for a quote - you will find our prices extremely
competitive.
What is the maximum speed that
competitors can be travelling?
The RFID system can record competitors
at any speed up to 30Km per hour.
What is the maximum distance
between the timing mats and the transponder?
The maximum distance is approximately
1 meter but we prefer to be within 0.5 meters. This is
why for most events the transponders are worn around the
ankle. For bike events we use a special mounting system
that attaches to the bikes forks.
Are the transponders waterproof?
The lightweight transponders are
housed in a special crush resistant holder attached to
the ankle strap. The transponders can be worn underwater
and works in extremes of temperatures (-25 to +85 degreesC)
